Kendall Street is for Lovers Tour
Branding, merch design, posters, social media graphics, and more for the band’s February tour.
OVERVIEW
Kendall Street Company had a unique tour in mind for February 2021. The band decided to take up residency in five Virginia cities, playing each one on a different night of the week for the entirety of the month. These were KSC’s first big shows back from the pandemic, and they needed visuals that were enticing, fun, and celebratory.
I worked closely with the band and their team to develop an overall look and framework. We decided to parody our state’s classic “Virginia is for Lovers” slogan, and to lean wholeheartedly into the visual language of Valentine’s Day — in all of its soap-y, prom-night-y, cartoon-heart-eyes glory.

A gradient-based color system allowed us to assign each city a different shade of pink, purple, or red. A voluptuous and groovy script typeface was used for primary headlines and titles.
When placed side by side, the posters form a collectible piece of art with a subtle silhouette of Virginia adorning the background. This horizontal-based scroll idea was also replicated for Instagram carousels.
“Glamour shots” of the band feature prominently across several applications, including the t-shirt design available at the merch table.
